Digital Inclusion Summit in Seattle, January 28th

One Economy is hosting a 2009 Pacific Northwest Digital Inclusion Summit on January 28th in collaboration with the City of Seattle and the Washington Communities Connect Network (CCN). The event will be held at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle, located on 4th and University.

The summit will bring together representatives of government, education, industry, funding and non-profit sector to explore what Digital Inclusion means in the 21st century, specifically during this time of unprecedented change in our nation's history, and extreme economic conditions.

The Summit will discuss ways of inspiring and engaging youth in technology, opportunities for community technology in subsidized housing, how to foster broadband adoption, how to motivate our future workforce through technology, and provide a status report and examination of federal, state and local policies intended to ensure Digital Inclusion. Last year, the City of Seattle joined One Economy in their national "Bring IT Home" campaign. This event will also help launch greater investment from One Economy into these efforts in Washington State.
